Phen Ceramic began in a small Lisbon studio in 2019, out of a stubborn belief that everyday objects should be worth living with.
The atelier
A studio, not a factory.
Every piece we ship has been touched by one of our 48 artisans — thrown on the wheel, slip-cast by hand, glazed and fired in small batches.
We source clay locally, use mineral glazes only, and pack in fully compostable materials. It's slower. It costs more. We wouldn't do it any other way.
Phen means "to make appear" in old Portuguese. It's a small word we take seriously.
